Approved for Support at Home: what to do next
Published 29 September 2026. A Support at Home approval is an important step, but ongoing services may not begin immediately. Your letter, support plan, priority category and funding allocation all shape what happens next.

Five steps after approval
Read your decision
Check the Notice of Decision and support plan to understand what you have been approved for.
Understand timing
Funding is allocated according to priority and approval date. You may need to wait before ongoing services begin.
Compare providers
Ask providers about availability, prices, service areas, workers and how they will meet your needs.
Share your referral code
When funding is available, give your chosen provider the referral code so they can view your support plan.
Agree and begin
Review contributions, services, costs, start date and schedule before accepting the service agreement.
Your approval and your funding are different steps
Your Notice of Decision confirms eligibility and your approved services. Ongoing Support at Home funding is allocated according to the priority category in your decision and the date you were approved. Availability and waiting times can vary.
Use the waiting period to read your support plan, consider likely participant contributions and speak with providers. Ask for written prices and make sure the service agreement reflects your goals, approved services and available budget.
